January 2011: Yusuf Motara joins the Department of Computer Science

Yusuf grew up in Grahamstown and studied at Rhodes, so is no stranger to the Department.  He completed his MSc in Computer Science in 2006.  His Masters research investigated aspects of checking the security of computer programs.  After this, he worked for several years in the IT industry in Gauteng before returning to Rhodes.

His strong background in Information Security is an ideal match with the growing importance of this research field in the Department.  He has registered for a PhD, which will explore novel aspects of the application of well-known algorithms to information security.
